Explain Titles, X Axis and Y Axis Titles, Grid Lines etc?

In excel application they are three types cell references.

1) Relative cell reference (or) addressing

2) Absolute cell reference

3) Mixed cell reference

1) Relative cell reference:-

Each cell in an excel work sheet has its unique address.

For example A1 is the address of the first cell is known as home cell. If you want to accumulate the totals from “A1 to A10” then you give a formula is the cell A11 as = sum (A1 : A10) The cells have numerical values in A1 to A10 with the reference of the given range A1 to A10 thus A11 is the cell formed with the relationship of A1, A2, A3…..A10 is known as relative cell addressing.

2) Absolute cell reference:-

An absolute cell reference is the reference to a cell that does not change (fixed) when you copy it to the other cells.

Therefore the cell B1 becomes absolute or fixed now, you can copy the formula in then cells, i.e.B3, B4, B5.. so on.

Note that putting a dollar $ in front of a row makes the row constant and as well as putting a $ in front of the column label makes that column fixed or absolute.

3) Mixed cell reference:-

Mixed cell reference indicated both relative and absolute that exist is known as mixed cell reference.
