Thesaurus: -
Thesaurus means a list of word
having similar meaning that is synonyms MS word has this facility to show
correct similar words in your documents.
First highlight the word
and then click on tools > Languages > Thesaurus,
then thesaurus box will appear, select the words which in your opinion is
correct in the alphabetical list and then click on replace, alternative word
will get inserted in place of typed word.

Auto correct: -
The auto correct option replaces
the correct word with mis-typed word. The word has the dictionary that
automatically correct the word by replacing the same with new word from the
dictionary > click on tools > Auto correct
, the auto correct dialogue appears.
- Type the wrongly typed word in replace box
- Type the correct word in box
- Click on ok.

Format painter: -
Use the format painter to copy
characteristics from one place to another place. Some times it becomes difficult to apply
the same features of a document in another place, Format painter help in
applying the format to other text.
In order to apply the format
painter first we have to select the text you want to copy then click on
format painter in the standard tool bar to apply the format.

Page break: -
Page breaks are used to place in
your documents where one page ends and a new page begins.
To insert a manual page break place the insertion point
where you want the break and then press ctrl + enter alternatively select
insert break to open the break dialogue box make sure the page break button
is selected and click ok you will see a thick manual page break line on your
screen, text or graphics below the page will appear on the next page of your
document.

Undo :
It reverses
your last action. There are 3 ways to undo

Redo :
Use redo command to undo an undo, to redo your last
action choose edit ® redo press the key board
short cut key or click the redo button

Cut , copy, paste:
The traditional way to move
duplicate items in window programs is to select them, cut or copy them into
the clip board move the insertion point to the new position
1.
Start
by selecting the desired text
2.
Choose
edit ® cut or press the ctrl + x short cut
or we can also click
button in standard tool bar
3.
The
selected text will disappear from the screen and will be placed on the clip
board
4.
Now
place the point where you want to the text to go
5.
Paste
using edit ®paste or ctrl +v short cut or we can also click
button in the standard tool bar
6.
The
important difference between cut and copy commands: in case of cut command
the block that was cut will not be present in original location and it
appears only at new location, where as in case of copy command the text
appear both at the original location as well as new location.
7.
To
copy the text, choose edit ®copy or ctrl + c short
cut or we can also click the copy button
on the standard toolbar. |
