Write about Macros ?

A macros is a series of word command grouped together as single command to make everyday tasks easier. Macros are record as a instructions in word macro language that is word basic to create a macro in two ways.
  • Record series of action using the key board and mouse
  • Type a macro directly into a word editing window.
Recording Macros: To record a macro, you should start the word macro recorder and record the sequence of actions then stop the recorder and edit the macro if need.

There are three ways to start the macros recorder.

˜ Double click
REC
On the status area

˜ Select tools / macro and then click the record button in the macro dialogue box.

˜ Click the record button on the macro tool bar if you have it displayed.

Steps :

˜ Start the macro recorder by double clicking

In the status area the record macro dialogue box will appear.

˜Enter a name for the macro in the record macro name box.

˜If you don’t give any macro name, word will take it as, macro1, macro2 …………. No spaces, commas  are allowed in names.

Enter a description of what the macro does in the description box, this is optional
˜ 
To assign the macro to a key board short cut click the key board button then assign short cut.

Click “OK” and perform the action you want to record.

To stop recording the macro, click the stop button on the macro record tool bar.

Pausing while recording the macro: -˜ 
  1. Click the pause button in the macro record tool bar to pause recording.
  2. Perform the actions you don’t want to record.
  3. Click the pause button again to start recording
  4. Running a macro: - Once you have recorded your macros you can assign it to tool bar, a menu or shortcut key. You can then run it as you would a normal word command or features you can also run a macro in the macro dialogue box and clicking the run button.
