Explain some Scripting Languages.

There are many scripting languages which makes websites interactive and dynamic.

Perl: A complex language that is commonly used fir server side CGI scripting (common gateway interface – CGI).

Perl is available for client side work through a subset called ‘pearl script;., which can also be used when writing active server pages (asp).

Vb-script: It is widely used but unfortunately it is platform specific. This language widely available under the Microsoft windows operating system.

It can be used to develop browser application but they will only run inside ‘internet explorer’.

Python: A web browser has been written in python which can run python-applets.

Java: Java is not a scripting language but it is used for many of the same thing as java script.

It is very good at menus and data validation on the client side but it can be very slow.
