ACIO Exam Information

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA's) had issued the Notification for the Recruitment of Assistant Central Intelligence Officers (ACIO's) in the Intelligence Bureau Department.

Intelligence Bureau Exam is one of the most prestigious exams as the selected candidates in this exam will get a chance to work in India's Topmost Intelligence agency

Online applications are invited from Indian nationals for direct recruitment to the post of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer, Grade II/Tech & Assistant Central Intelligence Officer, Grade II/Wireless Telegraphy, General Central Service, Group-C (Non-Gazetted/Non-Ministerial) in the Intelligence Bureau, (Ministry of Home Affairs), Government of India.

Selection Procedure: Written Test (Objective Type) followed by Interview.

ACIO Exam Eligibility

The eligibility for ACIO exam is
Educational Qualification:
ACIO-II/Tech:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science with Physics or Mathematics; or Diploma in Engineering or Technology in the subjects i.e. Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunication & Computer Science awarded at the end of three years course from any recognised polytechnic or M.Sc. (Wireless) in Telecommunication Engineering; and
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications or at least one year Diploma in Computer Application from any recognised Polytechnic/Institution; or Bachelor of Computer Applications or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or BE or B.Tech in Software Engineering or Information Technology from a recognised university.
ACIO-II/WT
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science with Physics or Mathematics; or Diploma in Radio Engineering awarded at the end of three years course from any recognised polytechnic or M.Sc. (Wireless) in Telecommunication Engineering; and
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications or at least one year Diploma in Computer Application from any recognised Polytechnic or Institute after graduation, or Bachelor of Computer Applications or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or BE or B.Tech in Software Engineering or Information Technology from a recognised university
Age Criteria: Between 18-27 years as on the closing date for receipt of applications. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC. Also relaxable for Departmental Candidates, with 3 years' continuous service, upto 40 years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government from time to time. The date of birth (as well as the name) will invariably be taken as recorded in the Matriculation certificate. No other proof of date of birth shall be accepted.

ACIO Exam Pattern

The exam pattern for ACIO exam is
The Written Test of consist of two parts:
  • Objective Written test with multiple Answers called Paper I : This Paper consist of General topics like Current Affairs, GS, English, Maths or Quant, Reasoning.
  • The Descriptive or Subjective Called Paper II, basically to test the English Language knowledge of candidates with topics such as Essay, Precise writing, grammar etc. There is also time limit to complete both the paper I and paper II within One Hour and Forty Minutes.

Apply for ACIO Exam

Interested and eligible candidates may submit their application only through on-line website www.mha.nic.in. Any other mode of applications will not be accepted.

The format of On-line application form is divided into two parts viz. Part-I relates to the personal, academic and other particulars of the candidate and Part II relates to the payment modes.

The candidate will have to fill up Part-I of online application and then has to select the option for payment of fee in Part-II in offline payment mode or online payment mode.

Candidates applying for both the posts will have to exercise an option in order of preference i.e., 1 for ACIO-II/Tech and 2 for ACIO-II/WT or vise-versa.

Examination Fee : Rs.100/- for General and OBC Candidates (NO fee for SC/ST Candidates and women candidates) - Through State Bank of India Challan (Cash deposit) or on-line account with State Bank of India (Internet Banking) or through ATM-cum-Debit card of State Bank of India only.
